I have done the JB weld bump and lightened the hammer spring on mine. It works really well to take out pre-travel and lighten trigger pull. I also had a lot of rough areas to smooth out but overall the 60 is easy to work on. Still is a jam-o-matic compared to the 10/22 but is accurate.
The deer herd has rebounded over the past couple years from EHD. I have seen more deer than average this year. The crops being wet and still standing have affected some areas. If there is no sign or sightings in your area you night try elsewhere,.
The unsuccessful hunts make harvesting a deer that much sweeter. You might want to turn your poundage back if you can't pull your bow after sitting for awhile. I started shooting 50 lbs., went all the way to 72 lbs. over a couple years, now I am back to 62 and have plenty of energy for a...
Slick tricks or muzzy's for me. Why introduce another variable hoping the moving parts will work? Rages are great if they work, my fixed blades are always open and fly excellently out of a properly tuned bow.
As the pawls wear in they may need adjusted like mine did. I would not loctite them. When the shellplate ceases to stop on a detent stop they just need a slight adjustment. Auto grease is what I use on mine after I wipe the old grease off that collects powder and dirt.
What does your bullet diameter measure? OAL is good I assume. Might want to try a EGW Udie if you cant get your dies to size down Undersize Reloading Die - $27.98 : Evolution Gun Works , World Class Precision Parts
I started using the polypropylene thermals and they are much better than the cotton ones. Cotton absorbs moisture then stays wet. The poly therms never feel wet and breathe.
The Masheck's at Hoosier Trapper Supply will provide better products as mentioned above. The coyote is a tough animal so you must use proper traps and staking methods. I use cable stakes and they hold great and are light. If your serious, look at the MB 650. There are a few others that...
Spoiler:no deer were killed.
Had turkeys and raccoons come through Sat. morning. Sat. evening made a friend with local dog at the trailhead. Dog followed me, so I shooed him off. I get up in my tree nestled in an oak patch and dog comes through 10 minutes later. He trailed me right to my tree...
I would GUESS about $4-$8 avg. for coons, $3 avg. for rats, $10 avg. for mink, coyotes ? (might not be able to give them away), $10-$20 beaver. In the late 90's we averaged $24 on coons one year. The market is down pretty bad but it has fluctuated like this before. 1987 I think was the last...
This year will be a good year to learn how to put up fur with the prices expected. I mainly put out a water trap line. Usually 25-35 #11's, #1.5's, #110's, and a small beaver line. Small potatoes but good fun. It is the only hobby I have that returns any of my investment which is a nice...
Bow hunting starts in a week, so that will be my main focus. I trap and ice fish (hopefully cold enough) after hunting season. A little woodworking and reloading to get through the winter, then fishing, mushrooms and turkey hunting. I usually take on one broken down project car or truck a year...
