      It's all in how the law is worded. You cannot knowingly sell bla bla bla... If you don't feel good about the transaction don't make the sale. Even your friends and family can lose their marbles and do something just as irresponsible as an improper person.

      It's all in what you feel comfortable with. You can exchange rifles and cash and go on your merry way. You could call your local pd to see if they will do the check for you, or you can go to a local shop and have the dealer do the transfer.
