I am looking to pick up hopefully a used Remington 870 to use as a deer & turkey gun. Are there any years or models that I should keep away from? Are the new guns as good as the older ones?
Nice collection. I hope to be there some day, but I am still working on adding to my 2 gun collection. Hopefully # 3 & 4 will be coming this year w/ # 5 early next year.
Which Traditions muzzleloader did you get? I did a search & the price ranges from $150 - $300 on the Traditions. Is the $150 Traditions a lot better gun than the CVA's?
I just bought a Ruger 10/22 with an Adams & Bennett 18" barrel. I know that ever gun is unique, but what have you guys found to be the best low cost ammo to use on this type of gun? I have tried the bulk Winchester 555 & the CCI Mini mag HP. I did not notice a lot of difference between either...
$5 is a good price to get into the show if it is any good. I am interested to hear if anyone has been there before. I might just go if it is worth going to.
So I found a NIB CVA Wolf for $125. Would you guys consider that worth looking into or should I keep looking for a used T/C Omega? I unfortunally have to keep the cost of this purchase low for reasons you guys probably understand. Do you think that a used T/C Omega would be near the $150...
Thanks for the advice. I have been keeping my eyes out on all the used racks, I have not found a lot in the past few months. I figure I have some time to sit and wait for a good deal to come along.
Thanks everyone for the helpful suggestions. Now one more question. Is there much of a market for used T/C Omega's, or should I just look for a good deal on a new one?
My problem was with the 32" barrel. I had a hard time getting the gun to swing fast enough to follow the bird. The gun shoots trap great, but I could never do well with it on skeet. The barrel might just be psyching me out, who knows.
I can tell you that I learned my trap gun does not work well for skeet. The first time I shot skeet I tried using my trap gun with a 32" barrel & I don't remember hitting much of anything. A few of my friends at the club let me use their skeet gun & it make a huge difference. That's my 2 cents.
I am looking to get back into deer hunting this year and was looking for a good recomendation on a not to expensive muzzleloading rifle. I have been looking at the CVA Buckhorn & the Wolf. Are these good guns, or is there a better gun for the money that I should look at? Is the Wolf worth the...
Hello to all from Central Indiana. I just recently got back into shooting & am hoping to get back into hunting this year. I hope to learn a lot from you guys.
If you don't have a lot of fuel you could store it in a MRS bottle? They are a lot less prone to leaking fuel or fumes. I think that it would take about 4 containers to split up 1 gallon, but it would be a safer way to store it.
