      Don't think I have ever hade brass go bad I ether lose it or smash it by steping on it. Try some rifle brass 308 223 let me know how that works.

      reloading .308

      4064 I have tryed lots of powders (4895 varget 4064 4350) and 4064 is the best for my rifle. I use 168 smk 42.5 4064 and oal is 2.775. Fps from my 26" is 2700.

      Seems to be very accuarate for 223 and it gets the fps up there. Herd that it burns different in different temperatures.

      Yes it will be full try putting the powder in very slowly and it will work better I use 27.5 with a 50 gr vmax.

      Like the data I too have that rifle I think mine is 26" I shoot the 168 smk with 42.5 gr of 4064 at 2700 fps. Cold barrle first is little hight but the rest of the shoots go in to 1/2" or so. What was your finnal load ?

      Taurus gots a 7 shot you can get in 4 or 6 in barrle and you can find them used for round 350 or 400 bucks. Make shure you get adj sights!

      I found a ballistic calculator that is helpfull. Just go to google and put in. Nobal comp. You can use black berry and iphonse. Seems to be accurate to my rifles at extended ranges. Let me know if it was helpfull too you.

      Formula for calculating FPS in longer barrel's?

      Think I herd some where that it like 25 or 30 fps per inch or so I wood get a crony tho they don't cost much and wood give you more accuarat data.

      Go with the 308 you will have more types and weights of bulles and the 308 will probibly do anything the 270 wood do.

      anyone having luck with lead 30cal bullets

      Is there a secret to good accuaracy with lead rifle bullets I cast them seperate by weight and load carefully but most shoot 5 to 6" groups at 100 yrds. What kind of groups do you get from lead?
