Glad to hear they are still around. It has been nearly two years since I have been to the store, as I don't live in the area. The Starkey's are old family friends and I wish I could frequent their shop more.
Bow Season: 15 + year old PSE. Don't even know the model. But if I fall in love with hunting with a bow like I expect, then next year may bring a newer model.
Gun Season: 458 Socom:rockwoot:
There is a spot near the Battlefield that has a hunter check in station. It is right on the river. It seems like it wouldn't be as crowded as the actual reservoir would be, but I have never hunted it myself. If you take 15 north to CR W 500 N and head west, the check in station will be on...
You can find some leather makers at the 1500 and use one of their belts. I have not looked to closely at them as the leather style doesnt interest me as much. There is also one vendor that sells 5.11 belts. They are sturdy, but made in China. It is similar to the Wilderness Instructor belt...
Pretty sure your dealer is wrong. It has been proposed to be made legal, but will not take affect until next year if it passes.
DNR: Proposed Deer Hunting Rule Changes
I'm excited to hear this. I got my 458 two weeks ago, but still need to get a buttstock for it. Can't wait to get it done and work up some loads for this deer season.
Isn't that the truth. If I don't have to work on the weekends I take my daughter who is almost 3 and push her around in a cart until she just can't stand it any more. It gives her mama some rest, and I still get to go to Big-R.
IMHO the one in Marion is even better. Which is great because I live in Marion.:D The one in Marion even has .50 cal ammo cans for $6.99. Wabash store didn't last time I was there. I only stopped buying them because I can't figure out what else to put in them. Though I still buy a few every...
Is it true that only Rugers magazines work well with the mini-14s? I do not own one so I am only going off of what I have heard. That is one of the pros of the AR, that there are so many magazines that work , and few that don't. I never see Mini-14 mags for sale, but maybe that is because I...
I've been thinking about this some more. I would get the lower and a different upper for the dpms. That way you have two. However, I think you will be hard pressed to find an LMT stripped lower. I don't think they sell them that way. But you can buy them already complete.
I wouldn't. Though saying that, I would love a complete LMT rifle. But the majority of quality in the rifle is coming from the upper. And if you have an LMT you have a good upper. Lowers are pretty much the same.
Someone may know more than I do and say different but that is my thought on it.
I would love to go for the gun show and night shoot again, but after going to a more informal, but still safely run machine gun shoot, (with a mini-gun and a couple .50s) every year a couple weeks after the creek, Knob Creek just doesn't take priority as much. Plus I wont have any money to...
I love my RRA. I just bought one of their 458 socom uppers and assembled my first lower tonight. I am already looking forward to another build. A complete one next time though.
I've heard nothing bad about them. I went to buy one a few months ago and they sold out as I placed my order and ended up with a spikes instead. I may still order one of these.
I spent way more than I should have.
Picked up a 458 Socom upper and ammo that I pre-ordered from acme.
458 dies
.223 projectiles
RRA LPK
RRA Winter trigger guard
Magpul miad
Ammo box for 458
Saw ammo can
Primers
Still need: butt stock to complete my build but I am afraid I am...
