Has anyone handled the new Springfield Xdm compact? I have a Xdm 40 now and would really like to upgrade/trade for a compact. But I haven't been able to get any first hand reviews. Any opinions would be really helpful

With the lee case length trimmer the end of the trimmer had PS a point that goes into the flash pocket in the primer. So no, the primer would get in the way of the trimmer.

I like hornady 168 gr match bthp bullets with cco primers. I use Lake City brass and H varget powder. I also use Nosler 180 gr hunting ballistic tips with the H varget powder.
The bullet to powder grain ratios are
168 gr = 42 gr
180 gr = 41 gr

You get the crimp die cheaper than if you purchased it later to add it to the set. If I can get a crimp die with a set I always do, even if I'm not use it, I will later.

That looks really good for 308 bullets?
Have you slugged you barrel to see exactly which size bullets you should be using? 310 or 311 This will also aid in achieving the best groups.
I measured some "Privi" rounds I bought the other day for cases. Those were the ones that shoot the best...
I polish with steel wool by hand when I am trimming cases. Then I clean with a sonic cleaner. I also clean the primer pockets after I trim them. I put a primer pocket brush in the chuck of a cordless drill and spin it.
I like to polish by hand rather than in a tumbler because I am trimming...
I'm definitely a fan of the 308 for what you're talking about. Go with the 308 now and if you decide to get serious into hunting and want something bigger, faster, longer, and higher grain go with a caliber more specific to the game, range, terrain.
Just my $.02
PS I really want one of those...
My brother bought the Remington SP10 last fall for goose hunting and he cant stop raving about it. He says "the pattern and range outweighs the recoil"
Now you have to make the all important decision. What order do you put the round in the gun for personal defense.
Bullet, Bullet, Slug
Buckshot, Bullet, Slug
Slug, Buckshot, Bullet
The choices are endless!!!!!!!!
I like the privi and the S&B. Then I reload them with 180 grain Nosler ballistic tip bullets, very accurate. I have seen videos on youtube of a Mosin shooting 1000 yards
