      First IDPA Shoot - Suggestions.

Had a really great time at this shoot. Met INGO member Mudcat and his son, real nice guy, made me feel not so much like a new guy to the range. Also ran into a guy that used to work for me that is now on the EPD, he was shooting a G34 in SSP Expert, hadn't seen him in about 10 years so...

      Most Disappointing Gun ever

Only guns I've been very disappointed in where my brothers Mini-14 it never seemed to shoot a entire mag of anything and his first Beretta 92fs, FTF, FTL, stovepipes, you name it, all bad. Never seen another Beretta 92 that bad off. I've owned a Llama 1911 and own a Lorcin .22. I can't say...

I provided feedback in several posts before going off topic, just go to page 1 :)

      Evansville Gun Show

Whittaker's is a nice big place to browse, but I'll stay on my side of the river and go to Dave's Gun Shop to buy. His prices are always better, no need to transfer handguns. I can go home with my gun that Saturday instead of waiting a week for it get 40 miles down the road. The guys will...

      weird or obscure hobbies

I'm doing a full down to bare metal and back restore on a Turbo 300zx. Far too much money that will never be returned, but it's a sickness. I collect early 80s children's toys. Gi Joes/Transformers/Voltron Other than that it's general tons of Mountain Biking, exercising and some camping. I...

What caliber gun do you carry?

Glock 23 .40 with Federal HST 180gr part of the time or when traveling. Ruger LCP .380 Crimson trace with Speer Gold Dot 90 grain everywhere. Fits so easily in my back pocket it's hard not to carry.

      Evansville Gun Show

I went today, a decent selection, some with good prices, lots of unique stuff for a show around here. A select few really awful tables as far as weapon quality. At one booth I saw 2 Llama .45s and a Lorcin 9mm, along with several Davis .380s, all very used. Some deals were to be had on...

      First IDPA Shoot - Suggestions.

Thanks for the tips so far. Really seems like a good group to hang out with for the day and learn and have fun, some of my friends are gun guys, but only lightly. Will be nice to hang around some more like minded people while practicing getting better. Singlestacksig - The match is at Red...

      First IDPA Shoot - Suggestions.

Hello all, I will be attending my first IDPA match on March 6th. I have a small bit of knowledge of the event speaking and shooting with my better half's Grandfather and Uncle. I have also read the entire rulebook, so in no way am I ignorant of the match and equipment needed. I will be...

      Evansville Gun Show

Depends on which one it is. The Armory show is tight on space and high on price. The 4-H Show like this weekend is usually worth the $5 entry free, but nothing to be blown away by. Just like a good weekend cruising gun shops, you might find a great deal, you might not, but always a good...

      A week unplugged.

Just thought it was appropriate to post in this section that I am spending my next week at a cabin on Lake Barkley in KY unplugged from the world. No internet, no cell. Just a fishing rod, tackle, a boat, a few good friends and a great woman. Going to ride the trails at The Land Between The...

      Judge "Public Defender"

I want one, seems like they'd make a great wood/snake gun. I just haven't "pulled the trigger" yet.

      Why Do People Buy GUNS/AMMO at Wal-Mart when . . . ?

I buy Target ammo at walmart. When you're talking about a $15 difference per 100 rounds, I see it as being a foolish consumer not to. I buy all my guns, self defense ammo, reloading supplies and hard to find ammo at the gun shop, I even drive 35 minutes out of my way to get there. I don't do...

      Knob creek sound-off

We have a group of 15 or so that will travel with us this year. This will be my 10th year. Coming from Evansville so about 1.5 hours.

      Midway had Federal SP primers....

For about 5 minutes. Lazy last hour at work, feel the need to vent my frustrations that I was forced to a co-worker lunch today and not at my normal time, causing me to miss my email from Midway and get back 10 minutes afterward, at which time they were already gone. :noway:

What position do you carry at?

Anywhere between 8 and 10 depending on my dress. Shorts go a little farther forward towards 10, Jeans goes back towards 8 so I can get in my front pockets.

      Glock plugs

I have a Scherer slug plug in my 23. It clips into the lanyard hole and has never so much as budged, let alone slipped out, even after 250 rounds in a afternoon. It's not flush like some are, but I just wanted to not have the hole there since every Glock I've owned gathers crap in it...

Are the 550 count Federal bulk packs extinct.

Never seen the 375s myself, picked up a few 550s the past week or so around town. They also had the 550 Rems.

      Any opinons on Crossbreed holsters?

Mine took about 3 weeks. Ordered in May, received in June. Once it gets broken in it's very nice.

Life is 2 short & 2 rough to carry a cheap knife

My CRKT functions just fine, never has broken, dulled or done anything other than what I wanted it to do. It was $50 10 years ago and I've never thought anything about the cost other than asking myself why others spend such ridiculous amounts of money for such little extra. It's a great tool...
