Who uses an AR15 for home defense?

You assume that I would expect to hit more than one bad guy with first contact of one round. What I am going for is what happens to the guy standing behind(relative distance) the number one bad guy? After your chosen round(all are deadly, not just buckshot) exits the first target, there is more...

CCing where it is "not allowed"......

What are your thoughts? I will not self incriminate myself and say I do this. However, are you willing to allow yourself and/or others to be harmed because you submitted to your rights being violated. If the sign says no guns, i wont go. But if i did find myself frequenting such a place that...

Who uses an AR15 for home defense?

A shotgun covers a broader field of potential worst case scenarios than an AR or any rifle for that matter. If my home is being invaded i want to get them OUT of my house and stay inside where I keep the advantage of the shotty. The ability to cover more than one attacker with only one round...

21 foot rule: Man kills 2 police officers with a knife ( GRAPHIC VIDEO )

A life saving reaction seems to be very rare in most bystanders nowadays. They would rather be selfish and gawk at all the horror so they can tell their story to all than to get in there and have the great priviledge of possibly saving a life. I couldnt live with myself if i did not get in there...

First time Wild Hog Hunting, What do I need?

All you need is a 6ft spear and a bowie knife. Leave the rifle at home and dont forget your shinguards.

21 foot rule: Man kills 2 police officers with a knife ( GRAPHIC VIDEO )

They were dead the second they surrounded him with guns. Did anyone else notice this? This is POW capture 101 stuff here folks. They surround him as if to take him alive, yet they equip themselves with deadly weapons. Oh yeah, and one baton. just so happens the man to wield the baton is also the...

      AR or AK

AR: easier to learn and become proficient with. AK: most reliable and harder hitting There are a billion AR vs. AK articles out there. What it comes down to is which platform can you become the most effective warrior with? That is really answered by how much you want to train and practice. I...

      1500 yards of field+levy doesn't equal a safe backstop?

They cant ban you from shooting on private property. Heck even in the HNF you can target practice so long as you are following their safety guidelines of which i am not well enough versed to quote. i would say shoot away and issue a complaint with his superiors.

      Kitchen countertops and ceramic tile

Concrete is actually a great alternative. It is pretty labor intensive, but it can be done cheaper than other hard surface alternatives. There is a ton of diy info out there on the subject.

      state line carry?

You are actually subject to laws of both states. It depends on who pulls you over. I deal with alot of state line jurisdiction issues hauling overweight(over 80,000lbs gross) coils into chicago. Funny thing is, there are six inches of pavement of which i am not permitted for. Yet there is no...

      Kitchen countertops and ceramic tile

You can seal it pretty well with a commercial grade sealer. The trick is using good grout that will take the sealer. i always bought the same brand grout/sealer from a flooring place. I cant recall any brands as ive been out of the biz for some time. seal the heck out of it and keep it clean...

      "accurizing" a bushmaster AR w/16"hbar?

I was never issued an ACOG, but yeah i agree with you. If you are a very consistent shooter, the range is a breeze. In the field however, its a different story. I just gotta do some tests i suppose. i am not totally conviced that a ff tube is going to make a difference in any potential real...

New Sidearm - Range report/Second guessing

it has the big hogue grips with the finger grooves. i have to say it doesnt seem like that "gel" strip in the backstrap of the grip does squat. that is exactly where i get stung. in fact, thats the only gripe i have about shooting it.

      "accurizing" a bushmaster AR w/16"hbar?

Thanks for the advice. In the Corps we obviously did not have ff tubes, but I was able to qualify expert every time. However, on the combat ranges you notice your shots are not as consistent due to the fact that you can't replicate your shooting position every shot. I haven't really gotten to...

New Sidearm - Range report/Second guessing

We did experiment with different loads. The harshest we found was 158gr semi wadcutter target ammo. Go figure. The +p's were not as bad, but still packed a punch. As for the trigger, like I said before, its the best I've ever felt on a dao wheel gun. Its not even that she is uncomfortable with...

New Sidearm - Range report/Second guessing

Just thought I would throw in an update. The misses decided to go with a Kahr cw9. After putting a few through the ruger and going to my g17 she realized the "recoil" of the 9mm was nothing. The kahr isn't much worse than my full size, plus its only single stack so its much easier for her to...
