308 die. I broke the only one that I had, didn't think far enough ahead to get extras. I would like to keep reloading today, but after calling around, I haven't found anywhere that stocks them yet. Anyone have any ideas? Looking for somewhere in N. Indy, Kokomo, Lafayette area.

This was the last one at that particular store. I called about 6 or 7 places in the Central Indiana area looking for one. I found this one, and Gander Mountain in Lafayette had a standard M&P 15-22 in stock for right at $500, may still have it.
I saw those alum charging handles, might try to pick one of those up. I was looking for a good host for my Thompson Machine can and this is perfect. The more I look at it, the more I like the idea of possibly doing an SBR down the road.
Just picked one up today from a LGS for $535. It was their Magpul version that came with MOE stock, MOE grip, and MBUS front and rear flip up sights and a MOE cheek riser. Not a bad deal. It was the same price at the same place about 4 months ago and I've been wanting one for a while.
Good to hear. With all of the somewhat recent entries into the .22 cal market, I've been hearing nothing but great reviews on S&W's M&P 22 line. I was looking for one of these for a can host, but I'm really looking for a 15-22. Doubt I'll have the need to splurge for one of those at the going...
This is such an irritating topic. I know it may or may not be their responsibility, but I was impressed at one LGS when the employee tactfully asked someone he had passed a handgun to to take their finger off the trigger and point it in a safe direction or he would not be able to handle them...
Another happy owner here. Undoubtedly one of the best handguns for the price. I had a friend shoot mine and trade his Xd (non-m) for one. Can't go wrong.
+1 for the 22/45, I especially like the threaded barrel. That being said, my #1 is my Sig 1911-22. Full size, threaded barrel, and makes a great trainer for 1911 shooters with the controls.
Definitely agree with those who say to have her get some range time in on as much as possible so she really knows what she likes. And I wouldn't worry a whole lot about smaller caliber. With the defense ammo available now, even the smaller calibers can pack a punch and still be controllable...
I'm sure that many of the "tactical" variant 22's offered are good pieces, but from personal experience I have an M&P 15-22 that's been a blast and worry free so far. Only issue I have had has been a failure to feed due to the magazine.
870 marine and Magpul:yesway:. I've always wanted one of those. Wish I would have bought one a few years ago, price seems to have gone up.
To the OP, just my .02. I believe 870's are more versatile, and I like the fit and finish much better. That being said, I also have a Mossberg 590 that...
Read up and talk to as many as you can, especially your father from the sound of it. Before we got into reloading we talked to anyone who was willing to share and read up on everything from the machines we would need, where to buy supplies, and how to avoid any mistakes that others had made...
Well I need to make it official. Can't believe I haven't ever seen this site/forum. Looking forward to all the information I'll get! Looks good so far!
