Just so you know these rifles are not made by colt. Only has the colt logo on the side. That said they are probably still good rifles.
This may not be answering the original question, but you don't need a rifle if you have one of these....

I agree that a shotgun would be best, but a revolver would be more fun to just shoot. Nothing better than the 870. Only difference is make mine a wingmaster cause the 870 express is to butt ugly to look at for the rest of your life.
460 mag. Overkill I know, but I wanted to get into handgun hunting deer. Never got to use it on one this year though because I shot one with my bow first :)

I am just finishing up my second year in the Construction Engineering and Management program(CEM). It's a great program and I really like it. 80% of the same classes a civil engineer with a focus on construction takes.
I started out shooting with my left eye closed, but switch over to both eyes open after my dad had me try it. It just feels much better and relaxed.
As for training tips: .22's and some tin cans often constitutes my practice. Good Luck
