      Gen3 or Gen4

      I went with both, gen 4 17 and gen 3 32c . I've owned the 32c for 6 years or so and The 17 for 6 or 7 months.       So maybe that is some bad info. Even though I have shot .22lr through a .22 mag, it may not be a good idea.

      .223 or 30-06

      While I believe my 30-06's are superior for hunting, I am able to shoot my 223 all day with its minimal recoil. As far as a 223 tumbling, I must b 1 Lucky sob. Marines are expected to hit a man sized target at 500 meters with open sights. I have never hit less than 8 out of 10 from that distance...

      Yep, Remy core lokt150 gr. Last year in Minnesota I dropped a 230 lb 10 pointer in his tracks. Not even a step. Nice round.

      Mosin vs .22 vs other

      I am a big fan of my marlin .22 mag. You can shoot 22 lr out of it and bolt action is more reliable. Cheap and semi auto don't usually work well. 22 mag is a fun round for plinking and varmint control.

      M1 Garand/Carbine

      For shooting , I would say garand. For carrying around all day and acting I gotta go with the carbine. Smaller,lighter and ballistics wouldn't matter.
