I prefer the 20 rounders, honestly. They clear the bench when I'm doing bench rest shooting and I usually only load my other mags with 20 rounds anyways. They're at normal price, so you might want to pick some up.
I have lots of Orlite 30rd mags that I don't really need anymore. They all work fine in my Stag AR but I would just rather build another AR than have all these extra mags sitting around. Let me know how many it would take for a trade. The picture below is of one of my mags, but is indicative of...
I'll trade you the once fired brass, but I'm in southeastern IN. Do you ever make it to the Louisville area? Or Indy? I'll be there this weekend. Send me a PM.
That's USGI ingenuity for you! These bayonets will fit in the scabbards for the other style bayonet and vise-versa. The bayonets all fit all of the USGI rifles too, whether they were made for the m1903, m1917, or m1. This was the standard until the 1950's when bayonets for the m1 became...
I can tell you that it's been chromed for ceremonial use, those are not the original grips (they look like they've been homemade--the originals from the time yours was made were of bakelite), and the scabbard is for the m1917 bayonet. It's a mix match and worth on the low scale of whatever the...
Hinkle's in Madison is always at the top of my list.
In Indy: Papa Roux, Shapiro's.
King Fish in Jeffersonville is a favorite, too.
Of course, these aren't the only good ones! There are plenty more!
If you're at all interested in the M1 Garand rifle, I'd recommend the Garand Collectors Association as the club you join to meet the CMP requirement. It's $25 a year and you get a really great full color quarterly magazine with all sorts of great information on the M1.
Check out some of the Eagle Industries chest rigs offered by SKD Tactical. Great stuff, but not for me though. I bought one but returned it when I noticed the tag that said "Made in the Dominican Republic." If you don't care where it is made, though, I'd look at the Eagle stuff.
It's a great program to support a great cause--and sells great rifles, ammunition, and accessories for great prices to support it. I've bought plenty from them and have always been satisfied.
You must not visit very exciting places. ;) I tend to visit places where my passport is frequently checked at military roadblocks so it stays in my pocket (and hence gets curled a bit).
