Thanks for the heads-up on cycling the leverevolution. I had the same problem with my 1894 until I oiled the action. Then everything worked fine. Understand though, I've only put about a dozen rounds through it. Maybe problems are in the future.
I'm the luckiest guy in the world. I called my wife 2 weeks ago about buying another gun and she said, go ahead. It will probably be worth more as a gun than it will be as cash.
I have closets full of stuff she canned this summer. We keep giving it away to the kids when they come to visit.
If you talk nice, they will sometimes knock a little bit off the sales price. It helps even more if you know someone that works there. They get a 10% employee discount.
Make your neighbors your friends and there shouldn't be a problem. Invite them over to shoot and show them that you are responsible and they will even stand up for you if someone else complains.
I bought a Ruger MK 1 in 1972 and love it. It cost me all of $34 at the time. I've shot more rounds through it than any other gun I own. Doing a clean up afterward is still a bear though. It isn't a quick and easy job
We ain't seen nothing yet on the foreclosure front. People have higher credit card debt and there are more people behind in their mortgages than ever before. Houses will be cheaper in 6 months than they are now.
I've got a lee progessive that I have been satisfied with. It does everything I expect it to do. I also got the chance to buy a dillon 650, nearly new and cheap and set up for 45, 40 and 223, which is most of my reloading.. If I ever get the time to set it up, one or the other may be for sale...
Dunhams people are good about helping you out with deals. I was looking at a deer rifle and the guy knocked 50 bucks off. It made it comparable to the ones I had found on the internet, without the shipping. The sales tax probably made up for it though. Still, there was no wait and no ffl...
Thanks for the info on the difference in 223 and 556. I have talked to so many people that say they are all the same. I think going 556 is a no brainer.
