5/10K Run n Gun Biathlons in Kentucky

Pretty much any centerfire rifle and pistol, eyes, ears, enough ammo to complete the COF, flashlight (pistol stage in a cave) and some type of stopwatch. You can use pretty much any equipment to carry everything, but must include a secure holster. The divisions are broken out into “race” and...

I've yet to find anything like it. Both fun and challenging.

5/10K Run n Gun Biathlons in Kentucky

Plus, Rockcastle is a great venue. The old lodge/hotel is on site, with both a restaurant and bar. If that wasn’t awesome enough, the start and finish lines are literally at the hotel lobby.

5/10K Run n Gun Biathlons in Kentucky

I cannot recommend these matches enough. There's nothing else like them in this part of the country. Did some volunteer work on the 10k course yesterday at Rockcastle. It's going to be an awesome match. There are still 10k slots open, so it's not too late to get signed up.

Looks like thigh holsters are gtg, as long as they don’t ride “too low”. Here’s a screenshot from the holster section of the rule book.

Heck. I’m only 13 miles up the road from Charlestown. Its a 1-1/2 hour drive for me, and well worth it. These matches have been a lot of fun.

      6.5 Grendel reloading

A novel idea is to pull the projectiles and powder from Wolf steel-cased ammo, then replace with new powder and projectiles. I did this once when I first began loading for Grendel, and didn’t have any brass handy. Added CFE223 powder and 123gr ELDs with fairly good performance. Not really cost...

      The wait is over !

Very nice. I don’t know why, but I like the looks of these things. Nostalgic awesomeness. Reminds me of the cool stuff I saw in 80’s SoF magazines as a kid.

Agreed. Much better turn out (and better weather) than expected. Another great day or shooting with friends. I’ll get some videos uploaded to tomorrow.

The October match began at the usual time. I’m unaware of any changes, but I’m probably pretty far down the “need to know” list. I certainly hope someone lets us know if there have been any changes.

USPSA at South Central SATURDAY THE 25TH

Cool. Thank you for the quick reply. I don't think this Saturday is in the cards for me, but I hope to make it to one of your matches sometime soon. You're fairly local to me, so it would be a shame not to.
