      New Vaquero Question...

I recently purchased my first single action revolver as I was thinking of getting into cowboy action shooting and wanted to try the gun out for fit and feel. I got a Ruger "New Vaquero" .357/.38 in stainless steel with a 4" barrel. I have read that the New vaqueros have internal locks under...

they should have sent you a piece of paper with it that says which positions are less gas and which are more, basically instead of having a .223 setting and a 5.56 setting you will have a 1-4 setting. each successive setting will let more gasses through to the piston than the setting before it...

      Swiss K31 project, need help

inside that nice shoebox looking case there are 8 wax paper sealed packages (bricks) each containing 6 boxes of 10 rounds. I got 3 of the 480 round packages for free with my rifle, which I traded a duffel bag full of random crap I had laying in the bottom of my closet to obtain, so I made out...

      Swiss K31 project, need help

a "New" stock will be tough to come by. the swiss original stocks are all going to be used since the rifle hasn't been made since 1958. You can get a Boyd's reproduction stock but they require a lot of fitting to get them right (like most Boyd's stocks) and its hit and miss as to weather or not...

yes, i contacted ADCOR customer service through their website. they told me to send my entire upper into them and they would look at it. they said it was a problem with the plating on the gas selector and they replaced it with the 4 position gas valve they usually put on the full auto version. I...

      Swiss K31 project, need help

$350 sounds about fair, I have seen them a little cheaper and I have seen them more expensive. when you get it dont forget to check under the buttplate to see if the soldier that it was issued to originally has his name and information on a tag inside.

      Swiss K31 project, need help

After a couple days working on the rifle it is shaping up pretty nice... as you can see all of the rust and debris inside and out are gone, the blueing on the rifle is still in pretty good condition so I may not have to hot blue it. The bore is nice and shiny and the muzzle crown is...

actually a couple of days working with 0000 steel wool and oil as well as using a brass brush and some NeverDull in the bore has removed the surface rust and cleaned out the soot and debris. the barreled receiver and all functional parts seem to be in great order now. the challenge is replacing...
