      The National Anthem

And I thought I was the only American that hates the way these performers screech out our National Anthem. They seem to think we are to see their amazing abilities. This anthem should be treated with respect and not altered. I, too, will not be watching the game.

      Vacuum Sealer

I think shipping was about $12. Last summer I put up 60 ears of sweet corn. There was a puddle of corn milk on the table but didn't cause a problem. I read later that is best to freeze liquids first before sealing.

      Vacuum Sealer

I bought a vacuum sealer from a company called IMPAK. The small sealer is $99.00 and will use most bags available. Check out a youtube channel called "Imstillworking." She does a pretty good review about this sealer. I am happy with it. I found out that foodsaver bags can cost .50 EACH...

Handguns that you let slip away!

In 1973 I bought and sold a beautiful new Smith & Wesson Model 19 .357. I fired less than 50 rounds through it. 1986 traded a pretty Model 700 BDL .243 with Redfield 4x12 variable scope for a new Browning Citori over and under 12 gauge skeet gun. Fell on bad times and had to sell the Citori...

Anyone else hate but have to buy or waste money on Valentines Day flowers?

Well, I did make the Lemon Meringue Pie but I made up a little card with this Poem inside Roses are red Violets are blue Don't be in the dark Look what I got, just for you. Then I handed her a pink Streamlight nano light for her key chain.

Our 44th wedding anniversary was just last month so I bought the flowers and card then. Tomorrow I will surprise her with a homemade Lemon Meringue pie.

Hello again, back from Sweden now in Greenwood.

Sweden is a pretty nice place to visit. My daughter lives in Lund and my wife, son and I visited her four years ago. They learn how to speak English from about the third grade on so no noticeable accent. Would love to go back. Welcome back home.

      What's Your Next Handgun?

I am looking to get a M&P 2.0. I want to try USPSA or 3Gun this year. Or maybe a Ruger American pistol.

Screw it, I'm Leaving the Country....

I was there in 1970 on R&R from Vietnam. I don't remember much about it because it was a week long drunk away from the jungle. They drive on the opposite side of the road....Business men wear shorts with a vest and tie...there is a restaurant at the top of one of the taller buildings that...

      Any woodworkers on here?

I agree with Ballistix. A good tablesaw should be your first priority. I built this TV stand a few years ago and it would have been very difficult to make without a tablesaw. I know some woodworkers can do this with hand tools but I think if you want to be efficient get a tablesaw. Have fun.

What did you get for Christmas?

I do all the cooking in my house so I got two white enamel pans and an electric griddle, Scotch and the only gun thing I got was a metal ammo can from Rural King. Really nice can for about $10. I got a pretty nice Christmas bonus from the boss at work which will buy me a 1894C lever gun. As...

      Best. Christmas. Ever.

Thirty three years ago last night, my wife and I got to hold our little baby girl for the first and last time. I prayed hard and expected a Christmas miracle but it wasn't to be. She died Christmas day 1983. I have disliked Christmas every year since. Now I realize that Christmas miracles...

      Combat Veterans, a question

The last thing I was worried about, as an infantry soldier, was loud gun noise when being shot at in Vietnam. You just do what needs to be done. I wasn't in much combat but enough to get a 10% disability from the VA. I didn't learn about the dis. pay until about 8 - 10 years ago when my wife...
