Hi Brian, thanks for registering for the class. You are all set for the class. Please take a look at the "What to bring" document and directions ahead of time and let me know if you have any questions.
I too am looking forward to the class and to seeing you there.
Take care and BE SAFE!
I was re-reading Musashi's The Book of Five Rings. In the Wind Book, when speaking of extra-long swords used by other schools, Musashi states:
"It is difficult for these people to cut the enemy when at close quarters because of the length of the long sword. The blade path is large so the long...
If I understand correctly, Posse Comitatus is to prevent military from being used as law enforcement. The Right to self-defense does not end when you enroll in the military and therefore they should be able to do just that...defend themselves. When a soldier is armed to prevent someone from...
I've had no issues with doing this and I've been doing this way for almost a year. The Kydex used in their OWB seems to be the same as their IWB (I have both styles) so it would seems to be the same tension as a IWB would put. But if someone doesn't want to try it, no worries.
I went to Home -...
I thought some folks may find this interesting or even useful.
I've got a Crossbreed Superslide for my strong-side carry and an Uncle Mike's Instructor's Belt that is several sizes larger than I need. I started to snake the belt around the holster in reverse of how it normally would be...
It's AWESOME to see this. A citizenry that values and protects it's armed forces is great, especially putting themselves in potential harm.

I don't want to criticize them for doing such and terrific thing, but if some...
rhino's got it. I carry my G26 or G43 on my support-side at the 3-4 o'clock position for the same reason I carry my G19 on the strong-side 3-4 o'clock position: easy access, solid grip and fastest deployment I can muster. I also practice drawing and firing it when I go to the range. If you...
If you don't have the manual due to it being a build, of course it is fine not to bring it. If you have it, why not bring it? Just because it's not a basic course doesn't mean something may happen to the firearm that is covered in the manual but is not known by the student or (gasp) Joe or me...
Oh Lord, if I'm to be a victim of crime, let it be by a moron like this.

I am glad this POS is not sucking air any longer.
Gotta love them Marines.
"We can arm every recruiter, and that will help the recruiter stations in case they are attacked. We can arm every Naval Reserve Center, every Army Reserve Center, but that’s not the issue. The issue is, if [the recruiting stations and reserve centers] become hard...
Here is our "What to bring" list:
REQUIRED GEAR:
o A positive attitude and a desire to learn how to use a carbine for defense.
o Eye and ear protection. I recommend at least 23dB NRR for ear protection. Shooting-glasses that are compliant with the ANSI Z87.1 standard. If you wear prescription...
I am very proud of how well she did. I've had no problems with it at all. Of course I am much more used to shooting autos than she is but also hasn't experienced any issues. Knock on wood. We'll be getting out to the range more in the coming weeks to make sure she gets more trigger time and...
It is a lot of information, I won't disagree. It's not a Basic Rifle class and you are expected to know how to operate your rifle/carbine before taking the class. We don't go over basic functionality, zeroing or other basics.
Joe Cruz is the instructor. You can read about Joe on our About Us page. He's spent 10 years in the US Army, four of those in Ranger Battalion. He's been a military as well as civilian police officer and has also trained hand-to-hand combatives in the Army. He's also an instructor in several...
Guy, thanks for doing this. The more level-headed folks we have talking positively about lawful firearm use, hopefully the more folks we have on our side...or at least leaning our way. Good luck!!
For those who are interested in the accuracy of the Glock 42, my wife shot one for the first time over the Independence Day weekend. She is normally a revolver shooter with an LCR. This was from 7 yards slow fire. She really likes it and has switched. No real question why!
