      45-70 Gov't

Thanks all for the help. The stuff we shot up today was cowboy action ammo, 405 grain hardcast. It had very little recoil. I will probably look for a bullet mold in the 350-ish range. Never used a cardboard wad before, I may have to try that. How do you punch those out? Any powder...

      45-70 Gov't

Just came in from running 20 rnds through this rifle. Shoots well, pretty to look at and leaves really big holes in tomato juice cans. My son wants to put a scope on it and use it for deer hunting this fall. I'm looking forward to working up some rounds that will work well in this gun...

Looking to start casting and loading 45-70 Gov't for my son's new Marlin lever gun:scratch:. Any words of wisdom out there?

This is the mentality of the people we are dealing with.

I don't know if anybody can answer those questions. Every kid is different in terms of how they learn to cope with home problems, school problems, etc. If you have low self worth and you perceive the world as against you or maybe that you actually deserve some type of belittlement, I imagine...

This is the mentality of the people we are dealing with.

There are many reasons a student may have an IEP. Most have nothing to do with agressive or potentially dangerous behaviors. I'm betting if they had the type of testing they do now when I was a student, I would have been labeled "something this" or "something that". Too often the "Wacked Out"...

You showed more control and restraint than I could have. I would have blasted away and blown a hole clean through the ... middle...of... oh, never mind...

Active shooter situation at Noblesville West Middle School

To the awesome teacher who tackled the little maggot - You are a Stone-Cold Hero and you earned your pay today. To the little larvae - What were you thinking...? You need some serious help. I hope you get some. To the choir here at INGO... Keep singing that tune we all sing. It goes like...

      Well, she seems nice.

And why would you head to Kentucky...?

      Well, she seems nice.

Saddest thing I've seen in a long time. Mental health and 2nd Amendment freedoms discussion could fit here. It's obvious to me, at this time, that she should not be allowed to own firearms. But how do you quantify mental fitness (or the lack of) and set a benchmark for any general statement...

      NRA set record for donations

I support the NRA. They are a one issue organization and there are many people with different political views that believe in the 2A and all the Bill of Rights, for that matter. I know many of them. They come over and we shoot together. IMO, Joe Donnelly is a politician. He will always take...

IF you carry have you considered?

Thanks for the tip. Checked out the book and ordered it. Many of the contributors are affiliated with the Armed Citizens' Legal Defense Network. Good luck on your case.

IF you carry have you considered?

Just weighing in with some points: I would like to see constitutional carry. It's a right after all. I think anyone with a firearm should, on their own initiative, seek as much training as they can and then practice, regardless if it's for your job, for hunting, competitive sport shooting...

Way to go South Bend? Most violent in Indiana?

Born, raised and educated in South Bend. Believe it or not, it used to be a really great place to live. We had this crazy blend of ethnic groups that just worked. There were Hungarians and Polish on the West Side. When you got invited to a Polish wedding, people would be envious because of...

      Wind Farms

You obviously do lose sleep over this. I feel sad for you. I, too, own "a little slice of heaven" out in the middle of nowhere. Not sure what I'd do, but pretty sure how I'd feel if they stuck one of those "unnatural" natural energy farms (really, they call it a wind farm?) in my backyard.
