Literally exactly where you want them. When I subcontracted for DHS, the first drill the instructor (a former Air Marshal) taught me was punch out, put the front sight where you want the bullet to go as quickly as possible, and fire. Then return to high ready and repeat until you master it.
If you’re shooting at a distance of 15 yards or less, you don’t need the rear sight to put your shots where you want them. Lining up your sights at close distances is a waste of time.
Not a fan of reflex sights personally. I just find it easier and faster to locate the front site and get it on target with irons. I can see the benefit of a reflex sight in competition or if you’re shooting at longer distances, but that isn’t what I train for. I rarely even use the rear sight on...
No issues with the binding or lockup. You just have to make sure you allow the trigger to return to its original position to complete the rotation. I’m used to a shorter reset so it throws off my timing. I have a few revolvers now and would say the Colt has the longest DA trigger pull (albeit...
I think a lot of it probably has to do with the advertising revenue that keeps those sites running. That said, I can understand the criticism considering there are, in my opinion, better options on the market. I preferred the Safariland as a duty holster because the retention device is thumb...
I assume you’re talking about the new CKCs? I have one and haven’t had any issues. I also really enjoy shooting it, but probably wouldn’t carry it. Im not a fan of gutter sights on EDCs unless I’m pocket carrying an J frame and I’m used to the short reset on semi-autos. It may just be...
Took a while but I finally got it to the range last Friday. Had a couple feeding issues, but not nearly as many as I anticipated considering the gun needed a serious cleaning and I was running CCI 22-Quiet. Aside from that, it was FUN. I was testing for function so I was basically just putting...
I’ve flown with my EDC multiple times and it’s handled separately from other baggage.
Once you declare it, you’ll have to stand aside and wait for TSA to arrive. They’ll have you open the case so they can verify it is properly secured and unloaded. Then they’ll put a tag inside the case, which...
It’s pretty simple to remove unless you have a MKIII. Or you could go with the SA-35 which did away with it altogether.
Either way, the HP certainly doesn’t keep me away from Berettas lol. No reason you can’t have both!

I’ve never used one of these, but I’d go with something similar. There are a number of companies that make a similar product.
The other option is an aftermarket steel magazine, but...
Always loved the Centurions. Unfortunately the 92 series are just slightly too big for my hands. I learned that on the first one I bought, and proceeded to buy two others hoping something would be different. They weren’t. Needless to say, I was ecstatic when they released the M9A3.
Well my first handgun would certainly fit the bill. It was a Ruger P89. If you run out of bullets, you can beat someone to death with it. You’ll definitely need the suspenders though.
I’d go a step further and say don’t buy anything chambered in .40. When I was subcontracting for DHS I had access to as much 165 grain HST as I could shoot. After shooting the course of fire with multiple firearms chambered in that round, I settled on a G23. The moment I transferred, the gun...
I’ve had 3 of the Yonkers models and felt they were worth the money I paid. That’s more than I can say about a couple of the Colt and Springfield models I’ve owned.
I’m not a Kimber fanboy but I do kind of feel like they get a bad rap that isn’t necessarily deserved.
That aside, I want to see...
Canik is producing quality firearms for the money right now. They used to be known for producing clones but have really stepped it up a notch. I imagine it won’t be long before they start to go up in price.
Honestly it’s a deal for what you get. You can get one off Gunbroker for a little under $800 after shipping & transfer fees. The Salient Arms barrel in that gun alone comes in at $350 if you buy it after-market.
Only difference between a police trade-in and one from the store is the round count. LEAs carry stock firearms with the exception of some SWAT teams, and ai doubt any SWAT team would be issued Shields.
I forgot to add on the last post, but I recently purchased a Canik Elite Combat that was pretty impressive out of the box. I’ve yet to get it to the range, but it’ll replace my G19 if it operates without issue. It has, without question, the best trigger I’ve felt on a striker fired pistol. Some...
Ahh ok. You'll have to forgive me; I work in law enforcement and appendix carry usually raises a red flag for me because most people who do it don’t have the necessary training to do it properly.
If the you liked the Shield but felt it was too small for your hands, the M&P9 2.0 would make...
Not trying to go off topic, but the fact that you’re asking for input on a carry gun leads me to believe appendix carry probably isn’t the best option for you right now. Appendix carry means the weapon is pointed at your femoral artery, which isn’t advisable unless you have a lot of experience...
