Mine is very supportive. Hasn't jumped in like I have, but is always keen to offer suggestions to cut back, save this, or multipurpose this other thing.
I don't spend thousands of bucks on things, but since we had our daughter, she quit her job, started couponing, and I have to keep adding...
Don't forget entrepreneurs. First thing I heard after nasa's budget got whacked was some of the employees starting up green businesses.
The size of federal government has got to come down. Too many people enjoy permanent cushy jobs just for the sake of employing them. We're sending them back...
The whole forcing people into it is what ticks me off. But the "hey we're making life better for you so we're taking your money is BS." Understand the notion, but don't care.
If I improve my house and it causes my neighbor's property value to rise, he shouldn't have to pay me for that increase.
Unless you have a power conditioner for the generator, don't do it. Other than that, it's a toss-up on what the problem is. Big earthquake? If you can point your dish on your own, use that, because fissures in the ground tend to rip buried cable.
If there's a tornado or other top-side issue...
did some hunting on my own. Looks like a glorified strainer :).
good to know though. My truck holds quite a bit of fuel, and it would be nice to access in an emergency.. guess I won't, unless I don't want the truck any more.
article seems a tad fishy to me. Threatening the government with guns would seem to demand their response (from their POV). I'm also surprised it hasn't made the news, rather than just a blog.
One thing that seems to be left out is to try not to get sick in the first place. I know it will happen eventually, but stock up on vitamins and probiotics and be using them now with a rotated supply just like your food.
Crawfordsville hasn't done it yet -- their ban on guns in parks still exists on the books, but it's being worked on:
Email from the city on November 21 to me:
"There is currently an ordinance making its way through the Crawfordsville Common Council addressing this situation. I have attached a...
If it's as pictured, it's just like my wife's. I've had no difficulty flipping the safety with my right thumb after drawing with my right hand.
did i misunderstand?
admittedly, it is more awkward than my 1911 since the safety rotates, but no problems really.
admittedly, I'm not a mechanic, nor do mechanical things come easily to me, but that's nothing like what the manual for mine says.
no more than 50% of maximum load (for fuel efficiency), and with the first oil change after 20 hours and after than every 100.
Just quoting the book, so not my words.
The cool thing about this one is that you can get away with a cheaper, lower wattage generator. Run a fridge for a couple of hours, then shut it off and turn something else on.
If I was going to run all my appliances at once, I probably would have gotten an 8 or 10K.
