Wow, I couldn't imagine flying with a 400lbs instructor! haha! My primary was done in an 85hp Champ, and between me and my instructor, on hot days, it had issues...flew a 65hp champ twice with an instructor and I learned the value of those extra 20 horses...haha
I hope the wife and I will...
A couple of points so far:
As to the weight issue, my wife and I are both sport pilots, and as such, severely limited in weight. Currently the max gross is 1320 pounds, and by the time you add an 860 pound airplane, fuel, two people, well, there isn't much room for much else. And someone said...
Ok, so i've been trying to come up with an idea for a while now. Wife and I are really big into camping / hiking and we are always armed when in the woods. At least handguns with each of us pretty much at all times (even on our own property). I recently got my pilot's certificate and we're in...
As someone who has worked in IT since the mid-90's....i HATE hearing people say "just learn to code"....I work for a software development company and seriously all we can find are devs out there with no experience and want to do their own thing. Can't find any devops, DBA's, or your other...
So, here is a discussion. Lets exclude the 2nd Amendment stuff for a moment since that affects ALL of us here. I'm curious about some of the more obscure things that have a direct impact on the folks here.
For example, my wife and I recently started flying alot. I just got my pilot...
I decided to build a whole new rifle, since I think I would only really be able to salvage a few little things off it. Besides, its always better to have extra rifles at the house, right? haha
I'm definitely looking at pencil barrels since I doubt she will be looking at the volume of fire...
So, the wife has decided that it is time for her to get a new rifle. Of course, who am I to say no? lol Anyways, we are in the process of replacing her old AR with a new / upgraded version. Her rifle was one of the first builds I had ever done (probably 8+ years ago) and I've learned a ton...
I haven't built any with Midwest gear yet, but I have built three rifles with ALG EMR handguards (two rifles and one pistol) and have been very impressed with them. One of them is on my multigun rifle and has worked out very well, and was fairly inexpensive when I got it.
So, finally getting that first suppressor here soon. Eventually, i'll be looking at 3 guns to host a suppressor on. My AR pistol, a Savage 110 Tactical (in 6.5 creedmoor) and eventually my wife's Ruger PC9 carbine. Kind of limited on budget, and I would like to avoid direct thread on them if...
I know its not a glock 19, but I actually do carry my springfield xd-m in a crossbreed IWB (supertuck i think it was) on a regular basis. Very comfortable. My wife (she has a glock 19) doesn't usually prefer IWB carry, and usually goes for OWB in a bianchi and galco leather holster (depends on...
So ya, new to posting here, though I've kind of watched for a while. Grew up in central TN, spent more time in the woods than I did in school (sure does feel that way sometimes...lol). So ya, hello!
