This would be the perfect site if...

Watchuseek is a good one. Been there. But we already have guns, knives, survival and hunting on INGO. Just seems like a watch board would make perfect one-stop shopping.

WHY WE CARRY: What scenario are you preparing for?

I can't. Don't pretend to. It's an educated guess, nothing more. But a friend of mine got in a common traffic accident and police stole his beautiful 1911. Took a lawyer, a month, and $1,500 to get it back. Another friend was stopped and frisked, gun stolen again. Neither had committed a crime...

WHY WE CARRY: What scenario are you preparing for?

I guess I'm selective. When IMO the risks of not carrying outweigh the risks of carrying, I do so. Otherwise, I opt for the knife. It is much harder to get thrown in jail with a knife, especially in Indiana where knife laws are very lenient.

13 year old boy gunned down by deputies...

If an officer points "something strongly resembling a real weapon" in my general direction, do I have your blessing to blow them into next week with a tidal wave of lead from me and my five best friends? Or do your principles only apply to those wearing government costumes?

13 year old boy gunned down by deputies...

Wow. Police cleared after shooting teen in the back. Imagine that. Didn't see that one coming (sarcasm).

13 year old boy gunned down by deputies...

That's fine so long as the rules apply both ways. If a cop dares to point a gun at a citizen - even a toy gun or a taser - deadly force in return should be EXPECTED... right?

      Walther PPQ

Please post your thoughts on the PPQ if you get it! I'd be anxious to hear. I haven't shot one yet, but good long term experiences with the PPK/S and P99 (9mm) have made me a Walther fan.

WHY WE CARRY: What scenario are you preparing for?

I carry a gun to prepare for 1) active shooter scenarios (malls, theaters, etc), and 2) returning to an empty house when I leave. In most other instances I carry a knife. In what instances do you carry, and for what are you preparing?

      The gym shorts conundrum

Ka-bar TDI folder and two black belts in how to use it. Not as good as your .380 idea, but my pants stay up.

      The Open Carry Argument

See my other posts - certainly it deters crime. No argument from me. But not every crime. And in such instances I sincerely hope the bad guy is as incalculably stupid as we all think. And on those occasions when it doesn't deter crime and the criminal is not an inexplicable idiot -...

      The Open Carry Argument

Wrong. I don't even have that. I'd never heard that story before and I have not a single instance in all of recorded human history that even vaguely demonstrates my point. There. Give yourself a hand and plant thy banner here. But I will express the unfounded, non-demonstrable, unproven...

      The Open Carry Argument

If I'm a bad guy entering a building, the first thing I'm looking for is OCer's. I either leave or make them my first target. There is no other option. If I'm a cop, the easiest thing to prosecute is "gun crime." And I have no intention of missing my monthly Citizen Encounter quota or my next...

An OC Guide to Protecting Your Rights: What to do when LEO stops you

You are completely, totally right and justified in doing so and I support you completely. If I'm on your jury and you live that long, I'll do what I can to help. However, you will probably be dead. Police are indoctrinated from their first day of training that YOU are the enemy. A badge is a...

      The Open Carry Argument

I also believe there is a worthy debate between 1) OC is good because it discourages private sector criminals, or 2) OC makes you the first target for any criminal, public or private. IMHO both positions are valid and it's tough to choose between them.

      The Open Carry Argument

FWIW... I used to carry open but the funny looks and potential violent reactions from police caused me to re-think. However, I do see the value of educating the public that the sight of a weapon is not cause for panic. Any time I see someone carrying openly, I thank them and wish them a good...

Using a Firearm to Detain a Person

That would scare me to death. If you are not a cop and attempt to detain anyone outside your home with a firearm, you are begging for a very long prison sentence. If there is any way humanly possible to charge you with a crime, you can rest assured that it will be done. Remember, prosecutors...
