      President Biden

I wonder that too. Other thing is, I thought the left loved the environment. However, shutting a pipeline, which is the safest means of transporting petrol, seems to be the exact opposite. Ship, trains, trucks are all very mechanical things that at the very least, not only have the possibilities...

      Sharpening systems. Which one?

One the course stone I do back and forth. Once I move over fine stones, I pull only, forming a burr, swap sides, form another burr and then move to the next finer stone and repeat. Eventually on last stone there is no burr.

Live Feed, Patriots at the Capitol

Only thing I saw was a 1st amendment zone, pretty said we can only exercise our 1st amendment in designated areas now. Also noticed a lack of really anyone in attendance, all those voters must have stayed home or maybe zombies can only raise from the dead on election nights.

      All the troops in DC.

I think this might be the most watched inauguration ever. Not because for love or country or president, but just to see if or what happens.

      Best guns for CC?

I have concealed carried numerous Glocks, Sig P226, and even a 1911. For edc I think it comes down to something that isn't a fuss to mess with, light and small. So Glock 42. Its not the smallest .380 out there, but the size and weight really tame any recoil. It is small enough for pocket carry...

Live Feed, Patriots at the Capitol

My running theory is something happens to Biden (planned accident or event to make the right look evil) and Harris immediately steps up and names AOC as VP. Originally I was thinking it would Pelosi, but pretty sure "they" need to keep her as Speaker.

How OLD is your carry ammo?

I write the date on the box and then save the empty box. After a year, I download the ammo and put it back in that box and replace it with new. I then save that old ammo in case of emergency.

      Budget long range precision rifle

Just checked out the Desert Tactical, that is a sweet rifle at that price. The Ruger American Hunter looks good, if it shoots like the Ruger Precision Rifles, than well worth the price and it has a threaded muzzle 18" or brake mounted 20". If the budget could be bumped up, I really recommend the...

      Overpriced

Maybe, just picked up a new Glock for $425. :) Looking for one more (different caliber) and then I'll probably go back to looking at/buying rifles and muzzle loaders.

      Overpriced

I saw a couple like that in classifieds recently. They beat the most expensive shop by $100. Guns are sitting on the shelf in this shop because they are $100 or more above prices that people will pay even with lack of supply. Would have bought, but not at $100 more than new and with extra...

      SAM's Club ND

When slide goes forward, hammer follows it, striking the firing pin. Usually caused by a defect or improper trigger job. Some claim that sending slide home on empty chamber will eventually cause sear to wear to the point were you will get hammer follow.

      Sharpening systems. Which one?

I have a 3 stone set, 220, 1000, 6000. They all seem to mud up, doesn't seem to change how any of them cuts though. Could get away with using 1000 grit with heavy pressure and then lighten at the end to get away with using just one stone. I am guessing the green brick is the same way. Even that...

      Sharpening systems. Which one?

      My water stones are Naniwa.

      Anyone weld in here?

Even with the spool gun, I do not like the MIG aluminum welds. They look nice, but always seemed weaker than TIG. With TIG and aluminum the hardest part seems to be that the metal really doesn't have a color change like steel does. When I was learning I would take a flat piece of metal and just...

      Sharpening systems. Which one?

I use Japanese water stones. They can sharpen some of the newer steels and seem to do better than the Arkansas stones I used to use. I hate systems that guide you, each knife usually has a specific bevel and a guide doesn't allow for this flexibility.

      Seriously Speeding on I-465

Was up at Indy last week, not surprised at what OP said with how people were driving when I was there. I tried going 60, but was afraid I would cause an accident if I didn't speed up and that was in the right lane. Fastest I have been was 163, buddy radioed me that he was topped out at 130 and...

      The Open Carry Argument

Disclaimer: I carry both (sometimes at the same time) and I don't care how you carry and I am not trying to convince you OC or CC is better, just an observation. So I see a lot of CC gives me time to assess the situation and gives me the advantage. Not sure this argument/position works, since...

What Happens to Trump Between Now and Inauguration Day?

I think we will see an impeachment. They are angry at him and don't even want the possibility of him running again. They want to see him in prison, they want to make an example of him. They are still mad that the first impeachment didn't go anywhere, but no they have the control needed to make...

Lump charcoal question for grilling folks

I get hardward lump from Wal-Mart at $.75/lb. It is better in my mind. Burns hotter so it seems to sear better, but also burns quicker (the one draw back). I think this has to do with the briquettes being highly compacted down. In the winter when its hard to get the grill up to temp, lump seems...
