      SIG M17

I like the sound of that. I hope mine do too; especially if they do it without adding $. But they’re reasonable for a striker, and look great.

      First 300BLK pistol build

How would you describe the recoil compared to say a 16” build? Is it really that obnoxious? Really liking the username “Biscuitsandgravy” wishing I would have been more creative.

SIG516 Uppers Contract Overruns at SIG

These go fast when they have them in stock. I thought about it too long and they were out of stock within just a few days. Wish I would not have hesitated. Given their essentially not making them anymore my main concern was with repair parts availability.

Sig 938: safety engaging when shooting?

The safety takes some getting used to. I’m really liking the p365 these days.

      SIG M17

Have you seen the P320 X5 Legion? It’s essentially the same line as the M17 but a bit more tricked out for competition shooting. Does not have the 1911 safety that the M17 has. I just picked one up, no rounds through it yet. Good to hear you like the M17, It’s next on my list.

      9mm, .40, .45 what's the BEST

Started with 40, too sharp (uncomfortable) Got a 45, 9, 38/357 (wheel guns) Traded in the 45 to consolidate calibers 9mm, can carry more ammo in the field with less weight etc. Seems to be a sweet spot for handgun calibers. Also very affordable and readily available.

HK Announces Return of Title I "MP5/HK54" SP5

This looks nice, would love to have one. Why so darn expensive? Isn't this similar to a Sig Rattler in 9mm (or vice versa).

Your first license to carry, what state and what first carry piece.

Indiana was my first and only license to date. HK SK2000 40 cal was my first carry. Traded it in on a Sig P938 (smaller platform).

      Emp Like suggestions

Concur on the Sig 938. I have one as my EDC. Was originally problematic with frequent extractor / eject malfunctions; sent back to Sig and returned functioning perfectly. Not one malfunction since. Love the controls, conceal-ability, and ergonomics. I’ve seen them go for ~$500 on the INGO...

      Considering the Hi-Power

Ive heard it fits like a glove. Like it was always there. I have a friend who’s wife stole this out of his safe and put it in hers.

CA Gun Shop owner fed up with new buyers

I hope they’re starting to see they are just penalizing law abiding citizens (like themselves - in most cases) and the criminals are buying their weapons on the streets free and clear of any laws.

      best screwdrivers?

Glad I found this thread. I seem to have a knack for finding the worst screwdrivers. They all seem to be made with the softest metals (especially phillips).

      AK Builders in/around Indy?

I would talk to Greg (gunsmith) at US Defense Solutions. I’m not sure if he has experience with AKs, but he is friendly and seems to be well plugged into the building community.

What have you done this week to prep? PART II

Bought 2K rounds of ammo, gas, water, food and Makers 46. Cleaning everything of course, getting outside as much as possible. Hoping to get more exercise...

Safe for long guns. New or used? Recommendations?

SecureIt safes look intriguing. Light and affordable, but limited space / options. I always cringe thinking about how to get that huge and heavy safe into my house or basement without serious harm. Does anyone have experience with their products?

Will there be a glut of used in guns in the future?

Makes sense that there would be. Maybe some good buys out there Later this year. They cleared the gun cases in most shops I visited, and I was tempted to panic buy (thinking great time for an EMP, and walking dead scenarios). I did stock up on some ammo.

      Selling during pandemic?

I always find myself missing firearms I’ve traded in, with some regret.

Central Indiana Gunshop Best Inventory fro AR Builds?

USDS is a good choice. I always feel welcome in there, and their house dog is always glad to see you. Their gunsmith (Greg I think) is great and more than willing to let you watch him work on your rifle etc to pick up some pointers.

      March 1500 canceled

Bald Max - Try the old trapper beef jerky. I get it at Meier, as they seem to always have it on sale. Jason
