How would you describe the recoil compared to say a 16” build? Is it really that obnoxious? Really liking the username “Biscuitsandgravy” wishing I would have been more creative.
These go fast when they have them in stock. I thought about it too long and they were out of stock within just a few days. Wish I would not have hesitated. Given their essentially not making them anymore my main concern was with repair parts availability.
Have you seen the P320 X5 Legion? It’s essentially the same line as the M17 but a bit more tricked out for competition shooting. Does not have the 1911 safety that the M17 has. I just picked one up, no rounds through it yet. Good to hear you like the M17, It’s next on my list.
Started with 40, too sharp (uncomfortable)
Got a 45, 9, 38/357 (wheel guns)
Traded in the 45 to consolidate calibers
9mm, can carry more ammo in the field with less weight etc. Seems to be a sweet spot for handgun calibers. Also very affordable and readily available.
Concur on the Sig 938. I have one as my EDC. Was originally problematic with frequent extractor / eject malfunctions; sent back to Sig and returned functioning perfectly. Not one malfunction since. Love the controls, conceal-ability, and ergonomics. I’ve seen them go for ~$500 on the INGO...
I hope they’re starting to see they are just penalizing law abiding citizens (like themselves - in most cases) and the criminals are buying their weapons on the streets free and clear of any laws.
Glad I found this thread. I seem to have a knack for finding the worst screwdrivers. They all seem to be made with the softest metals (especially phillips).
I would talk to Greg (gunsmith) at US Defense Solutions. I’m not sure if he has experience with AKs, but he is friendly and seems to be well plugged into the building community.
Bought 2K rounds of ammo, gas, water, food and Makers 46. Cleaning everything of course, getting outside as much as possible. Hoping to get more exercise...
SecureIt safes look intriguing. Light and affordable, but limited space / options. I always cringe thinking about how to get that huge and heavy safe into my house or basement without serious harm. Does anyone have experience with their products?
Makes sense that there would be. Maybe some good buys out there Later this year. They cleared the gun cases in most shops I visited, and I was tempted to panic buy (thinking great time for an EMP, and walking dead scenarios). I did stock up on some ammo.
USDS is a good choice. I always feel welcome in there, and their house dog is always glad to see you. Their gunsmith (Greg I think) is great and more than willing to let you watch him work on your rifle etc to pick up some pointers.
