Last weekend as well as this last Friday and Saturday I shot a number of drills over 3 different handguns to get some ideas on performance comparison. The point was to test my 365XL against my Canik MC9 but I also decided to run a full size gun as a control. For this I used my current IDPA match...
I have to imagine this is in my future, especially since I much prefer the 365 series to the 320 series for carry.

Yep. Had one in the mid nineties. Biggest pile of junk firearm I have ever owned. I think that was just a little ice breaking humor from the op. Maybe?
TLDW;
1) Take less classes, practice more. -Been there, made that mistake.
2) One platform at a time. -Been there, made that mistake.
3) One style of shooting at a time. ?
4) Don't get caught up in technique arguments, focus on principles. - Agree.
5) Start shooting with...
I will trot this out again though I know the article is far too long for most to bother reading.

Quick trip tonight with the normal EDC (Sig 365XL) that has been neglected most of the summer. I will be heading out of town for a few days carrying this so I wanted to make sure it and I were dialed in.
Starting with 3 runs of Double Add 1 that all went 7/10 on the 3X5, and then finally made a...
I have done and taught that type of thing in numerous classes. I think it is important to at least be familiar with especially if you are using a PMO. I don't see it as something to spend a lot of time on past the point of competency.
I was fortunate enough to take a couple of classes with probably the foremost expert in this area of our time, the late William Aprill. The following video covers some of this but not nearly as much as he covered in class. It is a very informative video though the hosts get a little too much...
So as a follow up to Thursdays practice of the match standards. The actual results are telling of something I have mentioned before. You can be a good drill shooter but still not a good match shooter. I did ok at the Indiana State Match taking second among 19 shooters in Carry Optics Expert and...
That is a scary thought.
Pretty sure I used the commas correctly though.
How do you use commas in a list of names?
When you have a list of nouns in a sentence, you should put a comma after each noun except the last one, and sometimes the second to last one, with a space after each comma but...
Tried to beat the rain to the range. Didn't make it by much. I set up a mini stage utilizing the plate rack some targets and barrels. I got through a few iterations of that before the rain. Then I shot heads at 30 from the shelter until the rain curled the heads. I then switched to the plate...
Not sure if the time frame would have worked out for that to happen or not as Earp died in 1929 and I think Wayne's first film was 1928 but that would have been really cool.
You understand correctly. Not to say others may not have taught parts of this before Craig but he codified and popularized it and I dare say anybody teaching something similar today owes part of it to him. We used his MUC information with his permission. By we I mean myself and my partner Josh...
Match mode pace tonight. I went with the 3 standards stages from the upcoming IN State IDPA championship.
I shot their warm up stage first. I like to use the match warmup to set the match pace for the rest of the day. In other words, as fast as I can in control and clean. This one is 2 targets...
