      I have a scout scope on my SBL in 45-70. I worked fine. It took a little getting used to. I recently replaced it with a Leupold extended eye relief scope. Not a full scout style, but easy to mount much farther forward than traditional scope. I like it very much.

      A horrible incident! I do find it odd that there was no report of any wounded at the scene. Usually events like this have a high percentage of wounded victims. 14 minutes was a long time before the shooter was killed by law enforcement. Just curious...

      Ok, do I need 44 mag & 45 Colt?

      You cant' really make a bad decision here. I am a big .44 Mag fan though. Extremely versatile if you hand load or a large variety of factory ammo is available. My Ruger Super Blackhawks make great companions for my .44 leverguns. Enjoy figuring it all out!

      How many deer would you need to harvest a year to feed a family?

      My wife and I go through three of four deer per year on average. That feeds the two of us and a lot of meals for kids, grandkids, and friends. It also includes jerky for gifts and chili for pitch ins.
