Interesting. I worked on the Methodist Hospital campus and they installed metal detectors in all the doors I went through. I haven't been over to University Hospital or Riley Hospital in quite a while so I'm not as familiar with those facilities.
I used to work for IU Health. They implemented metal detectors in the downtown hospitals, for good reason. They also upgraded the security team to a sworn police department so they are serious about controlling the environment.
