I have been planning to go for a while now, it never seems to work out. I hope, once again, to go this time. They are also supposed to have a good gun show as well.
I'm looking to pick up one of these myself. I had a Judge, the frame size was a hair to large for my short fingers. I also like the Winchester ammo as well.
Some of the type 38's were less accurate according to a few reviews that I ran across. Your best bang for the buck is the Finn. I got my hex 91/30 for $100 it's as good as any of the others I've had. Ammo is still pretty cheap, have fun.
My local shop has the stainless two barrel set that I can get for $100. Think that would be worth the chance. I did have a HP-25 that would not shoot. The slide was catching on the rim of the shell.
I have a MKI, a MKIII 22/45, Buckmark UDX, Walther P-22, and a Single Six. All of these are accurate fun shooting pistols. You wouldn't go wrong on any of them.
I'm on my second one now, and I really like them. Scour the shows, and you might find a better price. I just bought a long barrel with the thread adapter for $210 at the Boonville gun show from a vendor. I've been shooting Remington Golden bullets through it without incident.
My first was Llama cheap, shot fine. Second was a Springfield Mil-spec, shot great. Currently I have Kimbers. The 1911 is a great pistol, You can't go wrong.
The glocks, even the compacts, are a bit much for small or short fingered hands. I can't speak for the Gen-4. The Ruger is a little more suited to guys like me, I can get on the trigger better.
I haven't had any of the Taurus yet, will try one eventually. I'm a big fan of the Kel Tecs, the PF-9 is about the best for the money you will find. I also have a Kahr CW-9, very nice as well.
