I like my 9mm Shield. Bought it and a couple years later they introduced the .45 Shield. It is now on the list. The 9 is very comfortable in the IWB holster I have for it.
Shot my first wall hanger in absolutely miserable wet windy and cold conditions. Heard a shot behind me in the distance and decided it was time to survey that part of my area and there he was 30 yards away. He would have snuck by in about 4 or 5 minutes and I would have been clueless. Have to...
Quail are slowly making a comeback in Southern Indiana. Yotes are getting bad, and I have actually seen bobcats fairly close to houses when it used to only be a deep woods.
Wow. I have had yotes talking close by on the way to my deer stand in the morning, and while I wouldn't say I was scared, it definitely makes you be very alert. Can't imagine wolves. Pretty sure I can hold my own against coyotes, but a pack of wolves might be a little different.
Auctions are like that. Not sure how many things I have either purchased that I had no reason to, or overpaid because I am stubborn and don't like being beat out on anything. I once paid 30 bucks for a used rod and reel that I could have bought brand new for 28.99 at Walmart.
I am very sorry for your loss. I hope you (and siblings if you have any) are in a position where you are able to keep what has meaning for you and aren't having to sell everything due to financial reasons.
I typically aim for vitals and try to avoid shoulders. 3 were less than 40 yards and I double lunged them. The long shot she was hung up in a field and wouldn't come in. I snuck to the edge of the field and had a good stable kneeling shot leaning against a tree. She was slightly quartering...
Sounds like you found the cartridge the gun likes. I have been very pleased with the performance of 350 on deer. Furthest shot 254 yards, dropped her although I hit about 5 inches further right then I thought my aimpoint was. Furthest tracking job was for a friend who put a shot a little high...
I use a CVA Cascade which has a 22 in barrel, 1:16 twist. I shoot the Hornady American Whitetail 170 grain. Holding a little over 1" group at 100. Pretty sure the variable is me and not the equipment. On occasion I will have a couple touching and a group less than 1" when I am felling good...
The whole time I was in the military I maintained my Indiana Drivers License and residency, even though I technically lived in other places. I did register vehicles in California as I guess I was a resident of both states.
I guess I technically have only had 2 break, the 3rd I had purchased for my son and it broke on him first day. All 3 were the same one, and broke within a few days of field use. The dowel that fits through the swivel mount on the gun just fell out. ON one of the slings it fell out both ends...
I have heard through the rumor mill that a few of the State Parks are pushing for it to happen. The past few trips I have had for them have been not good. And just not for me. I remember when it sounded like you were at a rifle range for the first hour or so once shooting hours started (or a...
I'm shopping for a sling for my Stoeger M3000. Have had 3 Allen company slings break on me, exchanged 2. Normally have very good luck with Allen slings, most of my bolt action rifles sport them.
