      Nice catch and I bet that was a heck of a fight! FYI, Florida takes shark fishing very seriously, requiring those targeting sharks from shore and meeting certain requirements to pass an online course first. They also prohibit removing certain protected species from the water.

      If I were going to ride a bike in that area, I'd go much farther than required out of my way to ride on Whiteland Rd. or Smoky Row instead of SR 144. None of them are ideal but the reduction in volume of traffic along would make it worth it.

      Yes, it doesn't take much to cause a long back up in that area. It's bad enough with the idiots in cars that insist on driving 10-15 under. Not the smartest road to ride a bike on but the behavior seems par for the course.

      As someone who has gone for an involuntary swim in similarly cold water, it doesn't take long for the cold to sap you of your strength and stamina. It happens surprisingly quick. Without a PFD and help close at hand, it is very easy for someone to drown in cold water.

      There are no food options on the water unless there are concessions at one of the marina's. The camp store for the Patoka Lake Campground is probably the closest place to buy groceries to the water.
