8x56r yes, I know, a real common round. Also the magazine is like a Carcano where it has a clip that you load and the spent clip drops out the bottom when empty. All my clips and ammo have the Nazi 'dirtybird' on them so I am not real eager to find out how it shoots.

This had to be one of us... Funny Boat at Lake Monroe.

Does he have the battery crammed up his butt or does he just make vroom vroom noises?

      INGO political weather vane poll.

The difference between bacon and a politician? Well, bacon doesn't scream when you put it in the oven, it does what it is made for, it is within hearing distance to listen to what I might say, if bacon was on fire people would put it out, I have never heard of a bacon pedophile, sure it is...

      Thompson Center Arms sold

T/C was purchased by S&W because they wanted their barrel factory. They had been offering the name for sale for years now but no one bit due to having to honor the lifetime guarantee on all the previously made items. I would doubt the sale would include the barrel line since that is what S&W...

I picked up this cut M95 at a gun show a few years back. It cost me next to nothing and is still waiting in line for a total redo. I also picked up some ammo for it which is getting scarce. Most of it is old Nazi stuff. These are one of the "straight pull" rifles, similar in action but much...

Requesting assistance with Hi Power purchase

A couple of European countries and South American countries have copies that are good shooters but zero collectability. If you just want to shoot, and not have to out bid others, then picking one of these up would be cost effective while you learn the rules of the game.

Well, you are a master if you have a Dremmel! No, really, you are doing great work there. I love the vision.

That is sweet. Deluxing back in the 1800"s!

You can see why I was puzzled when the net was showing the newer slider.

Yes, that is the revised version, what I call an umbrella slider. The flares hit the receiver and slide it back to allow the shells to pass. With the others the metal block has a small spring steel detent in a grove to provide the same action.

      HAVE YOU EVER?

Guilty as charged, sir. I sold my '03 but still have a 1917. Oh, and you will need both a carbine and a rifle version of the trap door. (Ask me how I know...)

      HAVE YOU EVER?

I got rid of my PSL, it couldn't hit the floor with it's hat. It was brand new and shipped from the factory and you would think you couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a bass fiddle when you shot the thing. I hope you have better luck than I did, I haven't shot any others for comparison nor did...

A squirrel'n piece that is heavier than a M1 Garand! I think most modern automobiles have less metal in them than this thing. They were the first .22's that offered multiple shots, and it held enough so you can shoot until you are tired of carrying it.

if your tube doesn't have a spring detent that goes on the bottom from the knurled follower I will make you one when I make mine so the shells will not slide out of the loaded inner tube while loading back into the outer mag tube. The inner slider ( with the screw ) has about a 1cm track to...

It sounds simple, but what will it be like tomorrow when I forget?

      Neat old rifle...

My research has shown me there should be a flat spring steel detent in the bottom grove to the inner glider (with the screw in it) from jcj54's pic. Apparently the "newer ones" had a sliding collar made out of spring steel. Thanks for the pics, I have a handle on it now. This one was made in...

      Neat old rifle...

I start off by saying I will post pics soon. I am currently working on a Winchester 1873 in .22 short. They only made 19,000 over a 20 year span in .22 (1882 to 1902) and I would guess very few in the short configuration. It has the same size octagonal barrel as the larger calibers but with...
