Nice to have met you. Glad you were able to try my 22A to see if one like it is a candidate for a future purchase.
In regards to future shooting meetups…unlike Rachel, I think I'll pass on any others. I'm pretty well set in the way I view the safety rules and lost count of how many times you pointed the muzzle of your loaded gun at me while talking, moving to a different spot, or gesturing… which makes me very nervous! Especially when it continued even after saying, “don’t muzzle-sweep my friend!” as it swept Rachel’s stomach back and forth.
Good luck with whatever you decide to purchase, and remember your safety:
Always keep your firearm pointed in a safe direction (down range at the berm, in our case).
Always keep the firearm unloaded (until ready to use it).
Again, glad you got to try out some different things, and hope you had a safe drive back home.
There does seem to be a little confusion regarding the type of clone the new Rio Grande will be. I was told by Taurus support that it was copied from the Winchester 1894, but side eject makes it look more like the Marlin. I think the truth is somewhere in between, and is probably a melding of two platforms to stay out of court.
